Abstract

Since the time of Prophet Muhammad SAW, the importance of having good morals and character has been clearly emphasized and can be developed through education. In the 2013 curriculum, character education has been comprehensively integrated into schools, encompassing aspects such as religiosity, nationalism, independence, mutual cooperation, and integrity. Religious character serves as a foundation for the development of other character traits, and one effective way to achieve this is through Qur’anic literacy activities. This research aims to describe the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Qur’anic literacy activities in shaping the religious character of students at SMA Islam Al Ma’arif Singosari. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The data sources used were primary data obtained through interviews with the principal, vice principal of curriculum, PAI subject teachers, and several students and secondary data consisting of information related to the school, syllabus, and lesson implementation plan (RPP) provided by the PAI teacher. The findings indicate that planning involves establishing the structure of literacy activities, reading methods, instructors, and class divisions for effectiveness. Implementation includes conditioning students, using the bil qolam method, and involving guiding teachers. Evaluation is conducted through level advancement tests and report card assessments. These activities aim to effectively and efficiently develop the religious character of students
