Kontroversi Penafsiran Al-Qur’an Pada Masa Sahabat

Abstract
After the death of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, it caused a big problem among the companions in interpreting the Qur'an, because what he conveyed was global so that in interpreting the Qur'an, different understandings emerged among the companions. The purpose of this study is to discuss the interpretation of the verses of the Qur'an that caused controversy among the companions, the initial causes of the differences of opinion, and the main reasons. This study uses a qualitative research methodology that focuses on analysis and description, with data collected through a literature review (library research). The results of the study show that the verses that became controversial among the companions include Qs. Al-Baqarah verse 187, Qs. An Nisa verse 29, Qs. Al-An'am verse 83. The differences in interpretation among the companions were influenced by two main factors dzatiyah (personal factors) and maudzu'iyyat (textual factors). The dzatiyah factor is related to the knowledge, understanding, and personal experience of each interpreter, while the maudzu'iyyat factor is related to the ambiguity of the text of the Qur'an itself, such as ambiguous words, diverse meanings, or grammatical structures.
