Mengatasi Kecemasan Akibat Fenomena Doomscrolling “Ketahanan Spiritual Masyarakat Digital Melalui Konsep Ṣabr Dan Tawakkul”
Main Article Content
Abstract
The phenomenon of doomscrolling, or the impulsive behavior of repeatedly scrolling through gadget screens to consume negative news, has triggered a mental well-being crisis and a surge of anxiety in digital society. This study aims to construct a spiritual resilience model through the integration of the concepts of ṣabr and tawakkul to overcome such anxiety. This research employs a qualitative method based on library research using content analysis and a thematic tafsir (mawdhu'i) approach toward Qur'anic verses and cyber-psychology literature. The results conclude that ṣabr actively functions as an instrument of self-control (mujāhadah al-nafs) to restrain the impulse of consuming toxic information, while tawakkul serves as an emotional shield and cognitive reappraisal mechanism to surrender burdens beyond human control to the decree of Allah Swt. The synergy of both fosters Islamic mindfulness that effectively preserves the mental health of modern society.
