Tafsir Ijmali dan Tantangan Penyederhanaan Makna Al-Qur’an di Tengah Budaya Membaca Cepat

Abstract
This article discusses the relevance of ijmali tafsir amid a fast-reading culture characterized by the tendency to seek concise, instant, and easily consumable information. The study aims to analyze the characteristics of ijmali tafsir, identify the challenge of simplifying Qur’anic meanings, and formulate its methodological position in contemporary Qur’anic literacy. This research employs a qualitative library-based approach by examining works on tafsir methodology, recent articles on ijmali tafsir, and contemporary studies on digital reading. The data are analyzed descriptively and analytically through conceptual classification, methodological critique, and thematic synthesis. The findings indicate that ijmali tafsir remains effective as an introductory gateway to understanding the Qur’an because it is concise, communicative, and suitable for beginner readers. However, a fast-reading culture may transform conciseness into excessive simplification when readers neglect the context of verses, munasabah, diverse exegetical opinions, and linguistic dimensions. This article argues that ijmali tafsir should be positioned as an introductory method that needs to be complemented by tahlili, maudhu’i, or muqaran readings when dealing with complex Qur’anic issues.
