Peran Media Sosial dalam Membentuk Sikap Moderasi Beragama pada Mahasiswa di Kota Banjarmasin

Abstract
Religious intolerance and extremism pose serious challenges to social cohesion in pluralistic societies. This study examines the value of rahmah (compassion) in the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW as a theological foundation for religious moderation. Employing a qualitative approach through thematic hadith methodology (manhaj maudhu'i). This research analyzes authentic hadiths containing the concept of rahmah across social, humanitarian, and interfaith dimensions. The findings reveal that rahmah-related hadiths embody values of tolerance, gentleness, and appreciation of differences; align with the religious moderation principles of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs; and are relevant in addressing hate speech on social media, religious identity polarization, and ethno-religious conflicts. This study affirms that the Prophet's Hadith constitutes a living source of values capable of responding to contemporary social dynamics in a contextual and transformative manne.
