Gajah Dalam Al-Qur’an: Tafsir Saintifik Dan Perspektif Ilmiah Dalam Mengungkap Makna Simbolik Dan Hikmahnya

Abstract

Characteristics as well as symbolic meanings in the Qur’an. Their existence is not only crucial for maintaining ecological balance but also carries spiritual messages relevant to human life. This study explores the biological characteristics of elephants and examines their meaning in the Qur’an through a scientific interpretation approach. The research employs a qualitative method based on library research, analyzing scientific sources and Qur’anic exegesis literature. The findings reveal that elephants exhibit high intelligence, complex social structures, and significant ecological roles as keystone species. In the Qur’an, elephants are portrayed as symbols of great power that ultimately submit to the will of God, as illustrated in Surah Al-Fil. These insights indicate that elephants hold not only scientific value but also moral and spiritual lessons, particularly concerning humility, social awareness, and human limitations before divine authority.
