Membangun Pemahaman Spiritual dalam Tafsir Ayat Ayat Hati dalam Perspektif Tafsir Quran Karim Karya Mahmud Yunus

Abstract
The decline of human spiritual and moral awareness is a problem that must be addressed in order to build a pure and strong spirituality. The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the spiritual understanding of the verses of the heart in Mahmud Yunus's Tafsir Qur’an Karim and its relevance to the development of contemporary Islamic society. The method used in this study is library research with a qualitative approach and thematic analysis, where Tafsir Qur’an Karim serves as the primary source and journals as secondary sources. The results of this study show that Mahmud Yunus positions the heart as the center of spiritual, moral, and ethical awareness within humans. The condition of the heart is understood as the result of a strong interaction between faith, deeds, and life experiences. Thus, in essence, spirituality is not absolute but rather responsive and educational in nature. The implication of this research is the hope that it will contribute to the enrichment of the study of exegesis in the Nusantara and serve as an integrative, contextual, and practical spiritual model in addressing the crisis of spiritual identity in the modern era
