Antara Lafaz dan Makna dalam Penerjemahan Hadis Arab – Indonesia

Abstract
The hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ are the second source of Islamic teachings after the Qur'an and play an important role in explaining Islamic teachings. Because the hadiths are conveyed in Arabic, translation (tarjamah) is a necessity for non-Arab Muslims, including Indonesians. However, translating hadith faces various linguistic and contextual challenges, such as differences in style, figurative elements, and the relationship between isnād and matan. This article aims to examine the translation of hadith texts from a linguistic and translation theory perspective. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method. Data were obtained from hadith books, hadith commentary books, translation theory books, and scientific journal articles. The results of the study show that the translation of hadith cannot be done literally, but requires a communicative and interpretive approach that is oriented towards equivalence of meaning. With this approach, the meaning of hadith can be understood correctly without losing its context and teaching value.
