Analisis Ma’ānil Ḥadīṡ Terhadap Ḥadīṡ Pengendalian Amarah

Abstract
Anger is a human emotion that may lead to negative consequences if not properly managed. Islam, through the prophetic traditions (ḥadīṡ) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), provides comprehensive guidance on anger management that is both normative and practical. This article aims to analyze ḥadīths concerning anger control using the maʿānī al-ḥadīṡ approach and to examine their relevance to contemporary psychological concepts of emotion regulation. This study employs qualitative library research, drawing on primary sources in the form of relevant ḥadīṡ and classical commentaries, as well as secondary sources from contemporary studies on ḥadīṡ and psychology. The analysis is conducted through textual, intertextual, and contextual approaches. The findings indicate that the ḥadīṡ on the prohibition of anger, the recommendation to seek refuge in Allah (taʿawwudh), and the instruction to change body posture when angry represent emotion regulation techniques encompassing spiritual, cognitive, and physical dimensions. These teachings correspond with modern psychological concepts such as emotion regulation and cognitive reappraisal. Therefore, this study affirms that the prophetic guidance on anger management remains relevant and offers meaningful contributions to both ḥadīth studies and contemporary discussions on adaptive emotional regulation.
