Abstract

This research aims to analyze the efforts of religious local content teachers in fostering mahmudah morals among seventh-grade students at Mts Al-Hidayah Peterongan Jombang Jombang. The background of this research is the importance of moral development in the era of globalization that presents moral challenges for the younger generation. This research employs a qualitative approach with classroom action research (CAR) methodology conducted in two cycles. The research subjects were 32 students from class VII Mts Al-Hidayah Peterongan Jombang. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and qualitatively using the Miles and Huberman model. The research results show that the efforts of religious local content teachers in fostering students' mahmudah morals include: (1) learning planning integrated with moral values, (2) implementation of varied learning methods such as storytelling, role playing, and group discussions, (3) comprehensive evaluation covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. This research resulted in significant improvement in students' mahmudah moral development, with average scores increasing from 68.5 in the pre-cycle to 85.2 in cycle II. Supporting factors include principal support, teacher commitment, and parental participation. The conclusion of this research is that systematic and integrated religious local content learning strategies can effectively improve students' mahmudah morals.
