Pendekatan Sufistik dalam Tafsir Al-Qur’an: Sejarah, Karakteristik, Contoh Penafsirannya

Abstract
Sufi exegesis is one of the styles of Qur'anic interpretation that emphasizes exploring the inner meaning behind the apparent meaning of the verses through a spiritual approach and experiences in Sufism. This approach originates from the effort of purifying the soul (tazkiyat al-nafs) and seeking closeness to Allah SWT. This study aims to examine the Sufi approach in Qur'anic exegesis by focusing on its understanding, historical development, characteristics, notable Sufi exegetes, as well as examples of interpretations of Qur'anic verses. The method used is qualitative research with a library research approach, which involves reviewing various classical and contemporary literary sources relevant to exegesis and Sufism. The research results show that Sufi exegesis, or tafsīr isyārī, has a main characteristic of integrating the outward meaning (ẓāhir) and the inward meaning (bāṭin) based on spiritual intuition, without disregarding the principles of Sharia. Although it has sparked debates among scholars, Sufi exegesis continues to make an important contribution in enriching the treasure of Qur'anic interpretation, particularly in aspects of spiritual development, ethics, and religious awareness.
