Pelestarian Lingkungan Hidup dalam Q.S. Al- Baqarah (2) : 11 Perspektif ‘Ali Jum’ah dalam Kitab Al- Nibras Fi Tafsir Al- Qur’an Al- Karim

Abstract

Environmental issues have become a public discussion and spotlight that has sparked polemics recently, especially in the religious and social fields. This article aims to examine the interpretation of one of the figures who is an expert in law, ushul, and tafsir, and specifically discusses environmental issues, namely 'Ali Jum'ah in his tafsir book. The method used is a qualitative method with a study of interpretive figures and a socio-historical approach. The results of this study show that 'Ali Jum'ah's interpretation of Surah Al-Baqarah: 11 that the prohibition of damaging the environment contains its opposite, namely the command to preserve the environment, the content of the i'jaz of the Qur'an in the verse, the characteristics of damage and its perpetrators, and the relationship between environmental issues and human rights. This interpretation is influenced by his scientific background, namely interpretation with the ushul fiqh method, namely the prohibition of something indicates the command to the opposite. Likewise, the influence of the social context, namely the natural conditions of Egypt and the political influences within it, such as logging, industrial and urban development, mining, and the Egyptian government's authoritarian policies. And this condition is relevant to the environmental issue that is currently a polemic in Indonesia, namely mining in Raja Ampat, Papua.
