Hubungan Onset Penyakit terhadap Kejadian Sensorineural Hearingloss pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus di Puskesmas Banyumas

Abstract

Hyperglycemia can cause angiopathy and neuropathy complication. One of the complications is sensorineural hearingloss, which greatly affect quality of life. There are affecting factors of the incidence of sensorineural hearingloss in diabetes mellitus patients, such as onset of disease, age, and gender. This study aims to determine the relationship between onset of disease and sensorineural hearingloss in diabetes mellitus patients. This study was using cross sectional study with consequtive and quota sampling. There were 32 patients with onset of disease is not more than 10 years and 32 patients with onset more than 10 years. Data were analyse used chi square test. Bivariate analysis shows was a significant difference between the incidence of sensorineural hearingloss among diabetes mellitus patients with onset of the disease is not more than 10 years and more than 10 years (p<0,001). There was no difference between the incidence of sensorineural hearingloss among age groups (p=0.059). Multivariate analysis used to control confounding factor, there was correlation between onset of disease and sensorineural hearingloss in diabetes mellitus patient (p<0,001). There was a significant correlation between onset of disease and sensorineural hearingloss in diabetes mellitus patient.
