Penggunaan Media Visual Dokumenter Dalam Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa Terhadap Materi IPS Di Kelas VIII MTS Mabdaul Falah Larangan

Abstract
This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in Social Sciences (IPS) subjects caused by the lack of variation in the learning methods used. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of visual media in the form of documentary videos can improve students' understanding and learning outcomes in class VIII MTS Mabdaul Falah. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach which is implemented in two cycles. Each cycle consists of the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observations of teacher and student activities, as well as learning outcome tests. The results of the study showed a significant increase in student grades after the application of documentary media, both in terms of academic grades and active participation in the learning process. In cycle II, most students had achieved grades above the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM), and student activities during learning also became more active and focused. Thus, the use of documentary videos as a learning medium has been proven to increase the effectiveness of IPS learning in the classroom.
